Retail Customers Need Truthful Representation of Colors and Shades

- Retail customers need a truthful representaion of colors and shades when selecting and comparing paint chip color and finish samples. The paint manufacturer needed a lighting system for a 25 foot retail P.O.P. display to enable it’s retail customers to select and compare paint chip color and finish samples in a national home center store environment.

Design Challenges - The paint chip color and finish samples had to be shown off accurately and attractively. The national chain stressed that lighting system and power distribution had to meet all UL, NEC and local codes. Reducing the paint manufacturer’s total installed cost was a priority criteria for our Display client.

Crownlite’s Process - By taking a broader view, rather than focusing just on the lighting fixtures, Crownlite cut total costs while supplying a quality lighting installation. Crownlite designed the lighting system around a unique plug-in wiring system, making it possible for the normal installation contractors to also install the lighting fixtures and all of the associated electrical wiring, eliminating the need to hire an electrical contractor. This saved 75% of the electrical contractors cost and also cut the overall installation time by 50%, while meeting the home center’s stringent electrical code requirements.

Solution / Result - Our value-add business model met all criteria and provided the paint manufacturer with a comprehensive, value-add paint sales solution. The paint chip display was installed in over 500 home center stores, and the paint manufacturer went on to order several additional variations of the display from our client for other retail P.O.P display applications.
